Raising awareness of your noise risks

Raising awareness of your noise risks

Awareness on the work floor is the first step

Awareness of noise risks within the organisation automatically leads to more attentiveness and thus has a strong preventive effect. An awareness campaign is therefore very useful. As soon as employees are exposed to average noise levels above 80 decibels, the working conditions act even prescribes training. The employees are hereby informed about the noise risks of their work, the measures taken, the use of hearing protection, the results of the noise study, hearing damage, working methods, the health examination, and so on. Participation in this information is mandatory for all exposed workers.

Toolbox meetings

During the Toolbox Meetings, the Tympro specialist will provide information about noise risks during a 45-minute presentation. The legally prescribed topics are discussed thoroughly, whereby employees are made aware of the noise risks. A lively discussion is held with the group about practical examples.

Frequently asked questions about the toolbox meetings

This is legally required. Employees who are exposed to a daily dose of 80 decibels or more must be informed and instructed about the risks of noise exposure. This concerns, among other things, the nature of the risks, the measures taken, the established limit and action values, the results and explanation of the noise measurement, hearing protection, how to determine and report hearing damage, the rights applicable to health supervision, and safe working methods.

We notice from our customers that participants of the toolbox are extra motivated after the meeting to protect their hearing. They have learned that hearing damage is permanent and that the consequences of hearing damage can have a major impact on their future well-being.
