Why hearing protection?
Why hearing protection?
Why is it best for me to wear hearing protection?
The cells in the cochlea transmit sound to the brain. When exposed to excessive noise, these cells can become exhausted and even die, resulting in hearing loss. This often also leads to sound sensitivity and the perception of a ringing tone. Noise also causes stress, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic fatigue. The impact is enormous. Therefore, always wear certified hearing protection when exposed to loud noise. If you already have hearing loss, protecting your precious remaining hearing is even more important!
When is hearing protection mandatory?
The risk of noise damage depends on the duration and strength of exposure. The risk of permanent damage becomes very real at an average daily level of 80 dB. Under South African law, as an employee, you are obliged to wear hearing protection at a daily average level above 82 dB. Your employer then has to offer hearing protection and bears a monitoring responsibility in this regard.
Why are otoplastics the best choice?
Otoplastics are made based on ear impressions and thus offer the maximum comfort throughout the entire working shift. In addition, the filter ensures a more natural transmission of sound, preserving spaciousness and speech intelligibility. Here, the attenuation is set according to sound level and personal preferences and can be adjusted at any time. The filters also allow a simple leakage test. Otoplastics are the easiest to clean, making them the most hygienic choice. Finally, the average lifespan of 5 years gives otoplastics the status of the most durable type of hearing protection.
What does Tympro do for its wearers?
Tympro puts service first. This means that we visit on site to take prints and deliver. Upon delivery, we will assist the wearer and perform a leak tightness test to ensure full protection. In doing so, we only leave otoplastics that feel 100% comfortable and have the right attenuation. As ears continue to grow, it is important to test otoplastics periodically for leak tightness. For this, Tympro will automatically call you in. During these consultations, maintenance is also carried out and any problems can be addressed.
